How to set up Gemini Spark

Spark already knows your Google account, so setup is mostly about deciding what it may touch and when it should run.

What you need

  • Google AI Pro (US) or Google AI Ultra in a supported country
  • A personal Google account aged 18+, or a business account where the admin enabled Spark
  • Not the EEA, Switzerland, the UK or Nigeria

Steps

    Open Spark in the Gemini app

    Open Gemini on the web, Android, iOS or macOS and switch to Spark. If you do not see it, check your plan and country on Google's availability page.

    Choose which Google apps it can use

    Review access to Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Chrome and Photos. Leave out anything you do not need for your first tasks.

    Create a scheduled task

    Ask for something recurring, such as a Monday summary of unanswered emails. Spark saves it and runs it on schedule.

    Add an event trigger

    Tell Spark to act when something happens: a new email from a client, a calendar change or a document shared with you.

    Review and supervise

    Google asks you to supervise closely. Read the first few results carefully and interrupt when a task goes off course.

Tips from experience

  • Spark can run up to 15 tasks at once; fewer, well-defined tasks work better.
  • Repeat jobs become skills over time, so phrase your first request the way you want it done every week.
  • Workspace admins can restrict Spark for business accounts.
